Windows Live Mail - Change an Existing Account
If you already have a POP-based email account, and have been upgraded to a new server, these instructions are for you.
- Open Windows Live Mail from the Start menu or your desktop shortcut.
- At the top of the screen, click Accounts, and then click Properties:

- Click the Server tab, and enter the following information:
- My incoming mail is a POP3 server.
- Incoming mail (POP3): host.hotgluemedia.org
- Outgoing mail (SMTP): host.hotgluemedia.org
- Email username: your email address with + in place of the @ (so bob@hotgluemedia.com would use bob+hotgluemedia.com)
- Password: the password we've assigned to your account
- The radio button for "Log on using clear text authentication" should be checked
- The checkbox for "My server requires authentication" should be checked

- Now click the Advanced tab, and enter the following information:
- Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
- Check "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
- Incoming mail (POP3): 995
- Check "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
- If you want to be able to access your email via webmail as well as Live Mail, check "Leave a copy of messages on server". Otherwise, uncheck this box.
- Click "OK" to save your changes.
