Featured Project: Your Kid’s Room
I love the big, complicated jobs. I really do. Come to me in the morning and ask me to build you the pyramids and I’ll be out recruiting an army of off-season farmers that night. I’m a developer. It’s what I do. Code is poetry.
That said, websites should only be as big as they need to be, and no matter how big or small they are, websites should be awesome. Which brings me to Joe and his newly redesigned website, Your Kids Room. This is a little website for a big store full of fine kids furniture, and it is awesome.
The design inspiration for this site is simple: furniture website are almost universally lousy. All we really had to go on was the existing logo for this company. From that, we got the general color scheme and the essential whimsical feel we were trying to communicate. For a change, this site is static and not build in WordPress, and includes an email capture, a google maps directions widget thingy, a slide show and a contact form, and a couple of ads for Joe to advertise his awesome site with.
Did I mention Joe? Joe who sells kids furniture and accessories and has a new website? He’s awesome too. And he also has a facebook you can check out.
It’s not the pyramids, but it’s a great little site, no?
